PM visits High Command of Air Force-Air Defence

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held a working session with the High Command of Air Force and Air Defence in Hanoi on April 29, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), the 130th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19), and 66th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7).

– Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held a working session withthe High Command of Air Force and Air Defence in Hanoi on April 29, on theoccasion of the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), the 130th birth anniversary of PresidentHo Chi Minh (May 19), and 66th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7).

ThePM conveyed his regards to war veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes ofarmed forces, labour heroes, war invalids and their families; officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) throughout periods, and militianationwide.

Hesaid the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification provides achance to recall the glorious history of the Vietnam People’s Army, thesignificance and historical value of the great victory, and dedication of theParty and President Ho Chi Minh as well as contributions of people.

TheParty and State leaders always pay special attention to the air force and airdefence which plays a key role in protecting air space, land, seas and islandsof the nation, he said.

Theleader lauded generations of the air force and air defence for upholding thetradition of the nation and the VPA in national construction and defence overthe past 57 years.

Heexpressed his belief that under the leadership of the Party and State, and thedirect management of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry ofNational Defence, all officers and soldiers of the Air Force and Air Defence will overcome difficulties and fulfil assigned tasks in the causeof national construction and defence./.

Regarding future cooperation orientations, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the two parties enhance mutual understanding and exchanges, deepen relations in a substantive manner, and promote their roles in strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. He called for increased people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in culture, arts, education and training, tourism, and locality-to-locality links.

In 2025, China remained Vietnam’s largest trading partner. Conversely, Vietnam was China’s biggest trading partner in ASEAN and ranked fourth globally, with two-way trade reaching 256.4 billion USD, up 24.8% year-on-year. In the first two months of 2026 alone, trade turnover hit 66.7 billion USD, an increase of 30.2%.
