Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Dinh The Huynh received the new ambassador of the Republic of Korea Lee Hyuk on September 14.
Huynh said he believes that with his experience, the ambassador will fulfil his mission and become an important bridge to promote the relationship between the two countries, particularly when the two countries are preparing for the 25th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2017.
He noted that the enforcement of the Vietnam-RoK Free Trade Agreement in late 2015 and the re-signing of a normal Memorandum of Understanding on labour cooperation will further spur ties between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment, labour, and people-to-people exchange.
Huynh hailed the strong development of the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the RoK’s ruling Saenuri Party, especially after General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s State-level visit to the RoK in October, 2014.
On his part, Ambassador Lee Kyuk stressed that the RoK government attaches importance to ties with Vietnam and plans to enhance the political—diplomatic relations, boost exchanges through party channel and strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, business environment and investment.
Lee said he will do all what he can in his role as ambassador to promote the relationship between the two countries and the two ruling parties.-VNA
