Ninh Thuan (VNA) – Trung NamSolar Power JSC, a member of Trung Nam Group, on July 7 kicked off constructionof a 5 trillion VND (216.5 million USD) solar power plant in Thuan Bacdistrict, the south-central coastal province of Ninh Thuan.

According to Nguyen Tam Thinh, Chairmanof the Board of Directors of Trung Nam Solar Power, the 204 MW plant will covernearly 300 hectares of the Trung Nam wind farm in Bac Phong and Loi Haicommunes.

Regarded as the first integrated renewable energy project in Vietnam, the plantis scheduled to be completed in June 2019.

It is expected to produce between 401and 450 million kWh of electricity per year, supplying more electricity forNinh Thuan province in particular and the country in general.

At the ground breaking ceremony,Trung Nam Solar Power signed a design consultation contract with Vietcode-Apecojoint venture and a supervision consultation contract with Apeco-Nam An jointventure. Other important equipment supply contracts were also inked during theevent.

Earlier on July 3, the Electric PowerTrading Company (EPTC) of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) signed a powerpurchase agreement with the Trung Nam Solar Power JSC.

Under the agreement, EPTC willpurchase electricity from Trung Nam at a price of 2,086 VND (9.35 cents) perkWh.-VNA
