Hanoi (VNA) - Vietjet made a significant milestone with its first flight to the United States from January 8 to January 11, capturing global attention. This wasn’t just a flight; it was a bold step forward for the pioneering Asian airline.

From Ho Chi Minh City to America: bridging two continents

Departing from vibrant Ho Chi Minh City, Vietjet’s striking red and yellow Airbus A330 embarked on a groundbreaking journey across the Pacific. The route connected Asia to Anchorage, Alaska, and then to Miami, Florida, symbolising a vital bridge for cultural and economic exchange between Vietnam and the US.

This historic flight carried a special delegation that engaged with the US President Donald Trump and key strategic partners. The mission aimed to solidify economic cooperation agreements worth billions of US dollars, marking a breakthrough in bilateral relations.

“Hello America!”: Reaching new heights in global standards

Named “Hello America!”, the special flight featured a modern Airbus A330 with nearly 400 seats, meticulously prepared to meet the strictest international safety and security standards. The journey underscored Vietjet’s technical excellence and ambition to soar on the global stage.

The touchdown at Miami International Airport was a proud moment, with the Vietnamese flag waving against the clear blue sky. It wasn’t just a celebration for Vietjet but for millions of Vietnamese worldwide, symbolising international recognition.
