Hanoi (VNA) – PresidentTran Dai Quang on February 15 night talked and extended Tet (Lunar New Year)greetings, via a live TV programme, to officers and soldiers at 10 units underthe Signal Arm, Dam Thuy Border Post in Trung Khanh district of northern Cao Bangprovince, and Song Tu Tay island of Truong Sa archipelago in the centralprovince of Khanh Hoa.  

The State leader praised the Signal High Command for its achievements gained inall fields in 2017, especially efforts to ensure social security for local peopleand help them with poverty reduction and new-style rural building.

Expressing his delight at seeing officers, soldiers and people on Song Tu Tayisland in the moment of transition between the old and new year, PresidentQuang affirmed the Party, State and people nationwide always extend specialsentiments towards officers, soldiers and people on the island.

He spoke highly of the vigilance, readiness for combat and solidarity ofofficers, soldiers and people on the island, wishing them a happy new year with the fulfillment of the task of safeguarding the sacred sea and island of the nation.

Greeting officers and soldiers at the Dam Thuy Border Post on the Lunar NewYear, the State leader wished they would exert every effort to overcomedifficulties and continue doing well mass mobilisation work while coordinatingclosely with local authorities and people in ensuring border security and protectingnational border sovereignty.

He urged the Dam Thuy Border Post to work with forces of the neighbouringcountry to increase patrols to prevent criminals and build a border line ofpeace, stability, friendship and development.-VNA

“I love my fatherland” journey 2026 launched

The “I Love My Fatherland” journey will comprise seven stages linked to historical, cultural and revolutionary sites across the country. Education ministry targets five digital technology incubators at universities

A key target under the new plan is the establishment of five digital technology incubators, or Deeptech Hubs, at universities and research institutes with strong potential. The education ministry also plans to launch a training programme for 1,000 outstanding technology entrepreneurs and develop criteria for selecting and supporting startup ecosystems within educational institutions.

Vietnam Customs expands capacity to tackle cross-border narcotics crime

Established in November 2025, the NTC comprises six officers from the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Sub-Department specialising in surveillance, intelligence collection and information analysis. The centre is tasked with strengthening customs capacity in risk assessment and drug crime targeting, helping authorities detect and prevent illicit cross-border trafficking of narcotics and other dangerous substances at an early stage.

Hanoi steps up crackdown on counterfeit goods, IP infringements

The agency has set a target of increasing the number of handled cases by at least 20% compared to the same period last year between May 7 and 30. Inspection and monitoring activities will continue beyond May 30 on a regular, focused and systematic basis across the city.
