In an interview granted to Nile TV,permanent deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for ExternalRelations Tran Dac Loi and Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Do Hoang Long introducedthe life, career and role of the late President in Vietnam’s nationalliberation cause and the national liberation movements in Africa, as well ashis contributions to Vietnam-Egypt traditional ties.
Long said President Ho laid afoundation for friendly ties between the two nations, adding that he set footon Egypt for the first time on his way to seek national salvation in 1911, andtravelled to Port Said and Sakara pyramid in 1946 when he held a workingsession with the Egyptian government and talked with the host residents.
During the war against French andAmerican invaders, the Egyptian people expressed their support to Vietnam’sjustice fight for independence. The President also initiated and founded theVietnam-Egypt Chamber of Commerce, thereby facilitating bilateral economiclinks.
During the interview, Assistant toEgyptian Foreign Minister in charge of international cultural affairs MedhatEl-Meligy and Commercial Counsellor Pham The Cuong highlighted measures tofurther enhance bilateral cultural and trade ties, especially in fields ofstrength.
The programme also featured manyshort clips popularising Vietnam, its culture and people.-VNA
