President lauds Vinh Phuc for anti-pandemic efforts

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on September 7 lauded the northern province of Vinh Phuc for its efforts in fighting COVID-19 and maintaining the operation of businesses in the locality amid the pandemic spread.

Hanoi (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phucon September 7 lauded the northern province of Vinh Phuc for its efforts infighting COVID-19 and maintaining the operation of businesses in the localityamid the pandemic spread.

None of the enterprises in Vinh Phuc have to suspendtheir operations, contributing to job generation and budget collection, Phuc saidat a working session with local leaders as part of his trip to the province.

He also commended the province’s social welfare workwith no one left behind, and suggested the locality seek new growth momentum aswell as solutions to spur socio-economic development.

Vinh Phuc should pour more investments into education-training,scientific-technological development and personnel quality improvement, speedup urbanisation, and preserve and promote traditional cultural values.

The same day, the President visited the Vinh Phuc HighSchool for Gifted Students where he applauded efforts of teachers and studentsgiven the pandemic spread.

He urged the school to work harder to raise thequality of teaching and studying, apply technologies and reform teachingmethods, saying students need to better their morality, enrich their knowledgeand nurture dreams./.

Vietnam’s achievements in population management spotlighted

These include a rapidly declining birth rate (in 2024, the fertility rate dropped to just 1.91 children per woman) and a rapidly ageing population. Phuc Son Group Chairman sentenced to 30 years in prison in major corruption trial

Nguyen Van Hau, Chairman and CEO of Phuc Son Group, was charged with giving bribes and violating bidding and accounting regulations, causing serious consequences.
