President Truong Tan Sang gave a reception in Hanoi on August 5 for former acting President of Japan’s Democratic Party Sengoku Yoshito.

The President expressed his pleasure that high-level commitments have been effectively carried out by the two sides shortly after his visit to Japan in March.

He welcomed Sengoku Yoshito’s proposal on a field trip to Vietnamese localities, saying that the two sides have many potential for cooperation.

He said he agreed on proposals on agriculture cooperation, adding Vietnamese and Japanese localities effectively working in tuna fishing and applying the bio-technology.

For his part, Sengoku Yoshito stressed the Lower House of Japan’s attention to implementing agriculture and personnel training projects in Vietnam, saying he hopes the cooperation programmes will get support from Vietnamese ministries and sectors.

He said agricultural models in Ibaraki prefecture will be useful for Vietnam.

He highly valued the application of Japan’s bio-technology in some Vietnamese localities such as Da Lat city in Central Highlands Lam Dong province.-VNA
