The President’s Office and the Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Central Committee need to strengthen coordination in addressing citizens’ complaints and denouncements in order to protect their legitimate interests.

It was heard at a conference in Hanoi on January 14 to review the two offices’ cooperation in 2013 which saw the attendance of President Truong Tan Sang and President of the VFF Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Last year, the two sides worked together to strengthen the national unity through activities to provide relief for people who were affected by natural disasters, and meetings with overseas Vietnamese.

They also took many measures to collect people’s opinions on the amendments to the 1992 Constitution.

Participants asked the two sides to continue dealing with the existing shortcomings in order to develop production, impede economic regression, fight against corruption and ensure social welfare.-VNA
