Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of Belarus Aleksander Lukashenko on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS Summit in Kazan city of Russia on October 24 afternoon (local time).

Kazan (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of Belarus Aleksander Lukashenko on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS Summit in Kazan city of Russia on October 24 afternoon (local time).

During the meeting, the PM reaffirmed that Vietnam highly values its traditional friendship and cooperation with Belarus, which have been nurtured by leaders and people of both countries over the past 30 years.

Vietnam always considers Belarus a trusted friend and partner, and wishes to enhance cooperation with Belarus, including the exchange of delegations at levels and through channels to strengthen collaboration in all areas, he said.

Chinh underlined the complementary nature of the two economies, suggesting boosting economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus. He emphasised the need to to review and continue strengthening the legal basis to meet current cooperation demand.

For his part, the President of Belarus extended his congratulations to President Luong Cuong. He expressed his admiration for achievements Vietnam has obtained in socio-economic development, improvement of people's life as well as the strengthening of the country's international prestige and position.

Agreeing with Chinh's comments, Lukashenko affirmed that Belarus always values and wishes to expand cooperation in various fields with Vietnam. He proposed increasing collaboration in automobile production for export, as well as in investment, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.

Both leaders pledged to continue closely coordinating at multilateral forums, especially within the framework of the United Nations and regional organisations in which both countries participate./.
