A special programme entitled “Best of ASEAN” kicked off in Seoul, theRepublic of Korea on November 27 to celebrate the upcoming ASEAN-the RoKCommemorative Summit 2014.
The programme, which lasts untilDecember 14, comprises a number of cultural events such as ASEAN FilmFestival, Jewels of ASEAN, ASEAN on Wheels and ASEAN-Korea Youth Forum,with the aim of bringing ASEAN a step closer to the hearts of the Koreanpeople, said the ASEAN Secretariat’s press release.
Recognising the timely opportunity to boost mutual understanding andfriendship between the two sides’ people, the ASEAN-Korea Centrecarefully selected cultural contents to be showcased on “Best of ASEAN”through consultation with the ASEAN Embassies in the RoK and experts inrelated fields to unveil the diverse aspects of the rich cultures ofASEAN.
Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre ChungHae-moon said he hopes the event will become a valuable occasion wherebythe Korean public can rediscover the charm and splendor of ASEAN aswell as understanding better of the bloc’s multifarious cultures.
The ASEAN-RoK Commemorative Summit 2014 will be held in Busan on November 11-12.-VNA
