Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Health’s Medical Examination and Treatment Management Department and Servier Vietnam Pharmaceutical Company on June 18 signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of “The First Day” project during 2019-2020.
The project is expected to raise public awareness of hypertension and diabetes, and provide training for medical workers to improve the quality of treatment.
Popularisation work will be made both online and offline, via posters and website ngaydautien.vn, ensuring that patients have deeper insight into the diseases, change their lifestyle and follow long-term treatment.
Besides, around 100-200 information booths will be arranged at hospitals nationwide during 2019-2020 to give consultations about the two chronic non-communicable diseases.
The ministry and Servier Vietnam will join hands with hospitals and competent associations to organise training courses in consulting skills for medical workers.
“The First Day” project is initiated by Servier Vietnam, a non-profit organisation and an independent pharmaceutical company based in France. As the second largest pharmaceutical company in the fields of cardiovascular the EU, Servier has made significant contributions to the treatment of high blood pressure, diabetes and coronary artery disease.
Present in Vietnam since 1993, Servier has worked to better the quality of treatment and prevention of many chronic diseases.-VNA
