The PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) extracted 2.8 million tonnes of oil equivalent in the first half of 2015, representing 101 percent of the six-month target and 48 percent of the annual plan.
The exploited amount brought Vietnam’s reserves up to 8.49 million tonnes of oil equivalent, which represents 57 percent of its annual plan for exploration projects, the Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Saigon) newspaper reported.
From January to June, the PVEP signed four oil and gas contracts with Vietnamese and foreign partners, and assessed 48 oil well investment projects in other countries, including Cuba, the US and Iraq, in order to increase national oil and gas reserves.-VNA
