PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) has welcomed the first oil stream from West Desaru 1 oil well it is exploring under a joint project in Malaysia, according to the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam).
The output from the well of West Desaru oil field, which belongs to Block PM304 offshore Malaysia peninsula, is expected to reach 2,000 barrels/day.
When fully operational, the field, one of PVEP’s three overseas oil stream projects, is expected to produce 20,000 barrels/day.
PVEP now holds a 15 percent stake in the project.
The corporation is currently investing in 17 overseas projects. It is working hard to welcome the first oil stream from its other projects in Peru and Algeria.-VNA
