Quang Binh boasts four top tourist sites in Vietnam

As many as four tourism sites in the central province of Quang Binh have been listed among the top 50 must-see travel destinations in Vietnam, according to the Vietnam Records Organisation (VRO).

The rating was made by VRO, travel associations and agencies, experts in tourism field and domestic and foreign tourists.

Accordingly, Phong Nha Cave was listed in the top 5 Vietnamese caveswith mysterious beauty; Ngang Pass, which links Quang Binh and Ha Tinhprovinces, was recognised as one of the top 5 most famous passes inVietnam, meanwhile Nhat Le Beach was among the 10 most beautiful beachesand Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park was chosen as one of the 20 mostpopular destinations in the country.

In recent years, Quang Binhhas seen a strong development in tourism, which is considered as aspearhead economic sector of the locality.

In the first sevenmonths of this year, the province received over 2.4 million tourists,nearly doubling the figure of the same period last year.

Theprovince is well-known for various natural attractions, especially the‘Kingdom of Caves’, a complex of over 300 caves, found in the Phong Nha –Ke Bang National Park, which was recognised as a World Natural HeritageSite by the UNESCO last year.

Withthe opening of Son Doong Cave in 2013, Quang Binh was instantlycatapulted onto the bucket lists of travellers around the world.

Recently, the New York Times named Quang Binhas one of the most attractive destinations in Asia and eighth out of theworld’s 52 top must-go sites for 2014, meanwhile the US magazineBusiness Insider has included Son Doong Cave in the list of 12 mostimpressive caves in the same year.-VNA
