Central Quang Binh province and Savannakhet province in Laos have agreed to continue mutual visits as well as facilitating exchanges between Party and government agencies and mass organisations.
The agreement was reached between the two provinces’ leaders during a three-day visit to Quang Binh by Party Secretary and Governor Vilayvanh Phomkhe from Savannakhet province from Nov. 2-4.
During the talks, the two provinces noted that bilateral relations have continuously developed. They have regularly exchanged high-ranking delegations and have worked together to settle defence, security and border issues. Both provinces will continue educating border people to strictly abide by the regulations concerning the Vietnam-Laos border.
The two provincial authorities will hold regular meetings on border management and defence as well as working together to crack down on reactionaries and illegal trafficking and border crossings.
They will also work closely together in implementing a project to upgrade and plant more landmarks along the Quang Binh-Savannakhet section of the border.
Quang Binh promises to continue receiving five students from Savannakhet to study at Quang Binh University next year.
There are 25 students from Savannakhet province studying at Quang Binh province./.
