Addressing the event,Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Huy Hauincited locals, officials and union members to actively implementenvironmental protection and mitigate the effects of climate change.
AllVietnamese citizens working and living in the country are encouraged tosubmit their images to the competition from now until August 20, 2015.
QuangNinh is considered one of the most vulnerable regions to the onslaughtand subsequent backlash of climate change. It is forecast that by theend of this century, sea water levels could rise by one meter,submerging 131 square kilometres of the province.
On the occasion, a parade to encourage local participation in activities to cope with climate change was also held.-VNA
