Quang Ninh (VNA) – A paragliding contest was opened in Hoanh Bomountainous district of northern Quang Ninh province on July 14 as part of theNational Tourism Year 2018.

The event, co-organised by the Vietnam Sports Administrationand the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, attracts the participationof 81 paragliders from nine clubs nationwide.

It aims to affirm the potential and advantages of Hoanh Bodistrict in adventure sports and tourism, and attract investors in localtourism projects.

The contest will last until July 16.

Quang Ninh province is hosting the National Tourism Year2018, with a string of activities to be held throughout the year.

In the first five months of the year, the province servedmore than 7 million visitors, including 2.5 million foreigners. It expects towelcome 12 million holidaymakers by the end of this year, 5 million of them areforeigners.-VNA
