The border force in the central province of Quang Tri in collaboration with police in the Lao province of Salavan captured two Lao nationals trafficking 40,000 synthetic pills on July 11.

QuangTri (VNA) – The border force in the central province of Quang Tri incollaboration with police in the Lao province of Salavan captured two Laonationals trafficking 40,000 synthetic pills on July 11.

Thearrested men – Boun Lieng, born in 1984, and Thao Xay, 1979 – were caught redhanded in Salavan, just 8m away from the Lalay international border gate inQuang Tri’s Dakrong district.

Theyadmitted that they were smuggling the drug into Vietnam looking forbuyers. 

Alsoseized on scene were a short gun, six bullets, a bike with the Lao plate andtwo mobile phones.

Thecaptured men and things were handed over to Salavan’s security force forfurther investigation.

NguyenVan Dien, head of the department for drug and crime control under the Quang Triborder force, said the arrest was part of a big case that began in late 2016. -VNA
