Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Pitono Purnomo gave a reception in Hanoi on Aug. 23 to mark the 66th anniversary of his country’s Proclamation of Independence (August 17).
Addressing the function, Ambassador Pitono Purnomo stressed the significance of the event to the Indonesians.
He took this opportunity to thank Vietnam for its support and cooperation with Indonesia over past years, expressing his belief that the two countries would continue to develop and cooperate effectively in many fields.
Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his pleasure with developments in the two countries’ friendship and cooperation in politics, economics, trade, investment, education, labour, security and national defence.
He said he believed the Indonesians would continue obtaining successes in national construction and development and affirmed that Vietnam always wanted to increase cooperation with Indonesia./.
