Reference exchange rate continues to go up on May 15

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,263VND per USD on May 15, up 10 VND from the previous day.

With thecurrent trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercialbanks during the day is 23,960 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,565 VND/USD.

The openinghour rates at some commercial banks also picked up.

At 8:25am,Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,250 VND/USD and the selling rate at23,460 VND/USD, up 20 VND from May 14.

At BIDV, bothrates were adjusted up 10 VND to 23,280 VND/USD (buying), and 23,460 VND/USD(selling).

 Meanwhile, Techcombank raised both rates by 15VND, listing the buying rate at 23,264 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,464 VND/USD.

During theweek from May 11-15, the daily reference exchange rate followed a downwardtrend on the first three days, then turned around to go up on the last twodays. It ended the week 11 VND higher than at the week’s beginning.

The rates atcommercial banks fluctuated variably, but mostly ended the week 10-20 VNDhigher per USD than on Monday./.
