Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 24,245 VND/USD on Augst 1, down 10 VND from the previous day.
With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,457 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,033 VND/USD.
At commercial banks, the opening-hour rates also saw strong decreases.
At 8:31am, Vietcombank listed the rates at 25,085 VND/USD (buying) and 25,425 VND/USD (selling), down 30 VND and 35 VND, respectively, from July 31.
Meanwhile, BIDV cut the buying rate by 50 VND and the selling rate by 64 VND, listing at 25,065 VND/USD and 25,405 VND/USD, respectively./.
