Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,174 VND/USD on December 27, down 19 VND from the last working day of previous week (December 24).
With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,869 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,479 VND/USD.
The opening-hour rates at commercial banks increased.
At 8:30 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 22,690 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,000 VND/USD, both up 5 VND from the rates at the same time on December 24.
BIDV raised both rates by 10 VND, listing the buying rate at 22,730 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,010 VND/USD.
During the week from December 20-24, the daily exchange rate fluctuated variably but ended the week up 9 VND./.
