Reference exchange rate kept unchanged on January 20

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,341 VND/USD on January 20, unchanged from the last work day of the previous week.

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,341 VND/USD on January 20, unchanged from the last work day of the previous week.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,558 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,124 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening-hour rates saw decreases.

At 8:39 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,150 VND/USD and the selling rate 25,510 VND/USD, both down 48 VND from the rates on January 17.

Meanwhile, BIDV also cut both rates by 35 VND, listing the buying rate at 25,145 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,505 VND/USD./.
