Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,117 VND/USD on December 3, unchanged from the previous day.
With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,812 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,425 VND/USD
Meanwhile, the opening-hour rates at commercial banks surged.
At 8:15am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 22,600 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,830 VND/USD, both up 40 VND from December 2.
BIDV raised both rates by 15 VND, listing the buying rate at 22,630 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,830 VND/USD.
During the week from November 29 to December 3, the daily reference exchange rate followed a downward trend for most of the week except for Wednesday. It ended the week down 26 VND./.
