Reference exchange rate turns around to rise on August 23

The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up by 4 VND to 22,678 VND/USD on August 23, a turnaround after three straight days of reduction.

Hanoi (VNA) –
The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up by 4 VND to 22,678 VND/USD on August 23, a turnaround after three straight days of reduction since the beginning of this week.

With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,358 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,998 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw mixed fluctuations.  

Vietcombank added 20 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,240 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,320 VND/USD.

BIDV kept both rates unchanged at 23,230 VND/USD (buying) and 23,310 VND/USD (selling).

Meanwhile, Vietinbank slashed 6 VND from both rates, buying the green back at 23,226 VND/USD and selling at 23,306 VND/USD.-VNA
