Reference exchange rate up 1 VND at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,712 VND/USD on May 29, up 1 VND from the last working day of previous week (May 26).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rateat 23,712 VND/USD on May 29, up 1 VND from the last working day of previousweek (May 26).

With the current trading band of /- 5%, theceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 24,897 VND/USDand the floor rate 22,526 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks decreased.

At 8:15am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at23,280 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,650 VND/USD, both down 10 VND fromthe end of May 26.

Meanwhile, BIDV kept both rates unchanged at 23,330VND/USD (buying) and 23,630 VND/USD (selling).

During the week from May 22-26, the dailyreference exchange rate followed an upward trend except for May 23, and endedthe week up 27 VND./.

Vietnam's wood exporters race to stay on growth path

Ho Chi Minh City: Industrial, export processing zones attract over 2.6 bln USD in H1

Fuel prices continue to fall on latest adjustment

The maximum retail price of E5RON92 was set at 19,191 VND (0.73 USD) per litre, down 539 VND from the previous ceiling and 812 VND lower than E10RON95-III. The latter was capped at 20,003 VND per litre, a decrease of 412 VND.
