Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for July 30 at 22,659 VND/USD, up 10 VND from the last day of previous week (July 27).
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,338 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,980 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw strong increases from July 27.
Vietcombank raised both rates by 45 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,200 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,280 VND/USD.
Both rates at BIDV also rose by 45 VND, with the buying rate listed at 23,205 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,285 VND/USD.
Techcombank added 50 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,190 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,290 VND/USD.
Last week, the reference exchange rate was on a downward trend except for Tuesday. At the beginning of the week, it was set at 22,644 VND/USD, and closed the week at 22,649 VND per USD.-VNA
