Reference exchange rate up at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,153 VND/USD on October 7, up 20 VND from the last working day of the previous week.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,153 VND/USD on October 7, up 20 VND from the last working day of the previous week.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,361 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,945 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates also decreased.

At 8:17am, Vietcombank cut the buying rate by 10 VND and added 10 VND to the selling rate, listing the buying rate at 24,580 VND/USD and the selling rate at 24,940 VND/USD.

Meanwhile, BIDV also cut the buying rate by 10 VND and kept the selling rate unchanged from the previous session, posting the buying rate at 24,580 VND/USD and the selling rate at 24,9400 VND/USD./.
