With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,371 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,011 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw little change from August 15, with Vietcombank and Techcombank maintaining the same rates as on the previous day while BIDV adjusted its rates down.
Vietcombank is listing the buying rate at 23,270 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,350 VVN/USD.
Techcombank is keeping its rates at 23,250 VND/USD (buying) and 23,350 VND/USD (selling).
Meanwhile, at BIDV, the greenback is being bought at 23,265 VND/USD and sold at 23,345 VND/USD, both down 5 VND from August 15.
The daily reference exchange rate opened this week going up and stayed unchanged on the next day. On Wednesday the rate was adjusted down and then the trend was reversed on Thursday.
The rates listed at commercial banks have been stable since the beginning of the week except for slight rises on Tuesday.-VNA
