Remains of the fallen returned to central province

The remains of 57 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts killed in Laos were brought back to the central province of Nghe An for reburial in a ceremony on January 11.
The remains of 57 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts killed in Laos were brought back to the central province of Nghe An for reburial in a ceremony on January 11.

The remains - found by the Military Command of Nghe An in the first phase of the 2013-2014 dry season in Xieng Khouang province and Vientiane city - will be laid to rest in Do Luong Martyr’s Cemetery in Do Luong district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An provincial People’s Committee Le Xuan Dai expressed gratitude towards the martyrs who laid down their lives while undertaking international service, and praised their contribution to the special tie between Vietnam and Laos .

To date Nghe An has repatriated and held reburial services for nearly 13,000 fallen volunteers.-VNA
