Reports on national situation, draft laws submitted to parliament

Reports on the country’s situation in 2017, plans for 2018 and two draft laws, along with outcomes of the verification of those reports, were submitted to the 14th National Assembly (NA) on the first day of its fourth session in Hanoi on October 23.

Hanoi (VNA) – Reports on the country’s situationin 2017, plans for 2018 and two draft laws, along with outcomes of theverification of those reports, were submitted to the 14th National Assembly(NA) on the first day of its fourth session in Hanoi on October 23.

After the opening ceremony, chaired by NAChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered a report on the implementation of thesocio-economic development plan in 2017 and another plan for 2018. 

A verification report on this document was latergiven by Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Economic Affairs Vu Hong Thanh.

In another report, President of the VietnamFatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man summarised opinions andproposals made by voters and people nationwide.

Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung delivered areport on the implementation of the state budget plan in 2017, state budgetestimates and central budget allocation for 2018, and the state finance-budgetplan for 2018-2020.

The outcomes of the verification of thisdocument were later detailed by Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Financialand Budgetary Affairs Nguyen Duc Hai.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism NguyenNgoc Thien submitted a draft law on amendments and supplements to some articlesof the Law on Physical Training and Sports.

This bill had been verified by the NA’sCommittee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, whoseChairman Phan Thanh Binh delivered the verification report during the plenarymeeting.

After that, Minister of Industry and Trade TranTuan Anh gave a report on the draft revised competition law, a verificationreport on which was later submitted by Chairman of the NA’s Committee forEconomic Affairs Vu Hong Thanh.

On October 24 morning, NA deputies is set to discussin groups the outcomes of the realisation of the socio-economic development andstate budget plans in 2017, the plans on socio-economic development, statebudget estimates and central budget allocation for next year, and the statefinance-budget plan for 2018-2020.

They will have a plenary meeting in theafternoon to look into the draft revised law on forest protection anddevelopment and the personnel work.-VNA
