RoK cyclist wins yellow jersey of VTV cycling race

Hanoi (VNA) - Jiung Jang ofKorail Cycle Team from the Republic of Korea has won the VTV InternationalCycling Tournament, or Ton Hoa Sen Cup, which wrapped up on September 17.

Jang won the event’s yellow jersey with thebest time of 39:04.46 after 14 stages, followed by Javier Sarda Perez of BikeLife VDC and Nguyen Truong Tai of VUS-HCM City.

Jang walked away with a bonus of 120million VND (5,200 USD).

Le Van Duan of VUS-Ho Chi Minh City won thegreen jersey as the best sprinter with 206 points. Jan Paul Morales ofPhilippine Navy Standard Insurance and Huynh Thanh Tung of Military Zone 7 werethe runners-up.

The red jersey of the King of Mountain wentto Junrey Navarra of CCN Cycling Team, with 63 points.

Ngo Van Phuong of Hanoi won the whitejersey as the best young cyclist.

In the team rankings, HCM City won thetitle with a total time of 117: 20.26. Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap and Bike LifeVDC finished second and third.

The 14th stage win belonged to Tung of MilitaryZone 7. He won the 142km last stage from Bao Loc to HCM City with a time of3:20.46 and average speed of 42.437 kmh.

This year’s race featured 84 cyclists from seven local and four foreign teams.-VNA
