Republic of Korean (RoK) director Kim Ji-hoon and actress Han Ga-in will come to Vietnam to work as special mentors at the Toto Filmmaking Class programme.

They will share their filming experience and judge short films produced by children on July 11 at Megastar Parkson Paragon in Ho Chi Minh City. Director Kim will also give a lecture at the Sai Gon International Film School on July 10.

The programme, sponsored by CJ CGV, the largest theatre chain in the RoK, began three years ago in Seoul before being expanded to Beijing and HCM City . Students aged 11-15 living in the host country take part in the programme after being chosen through a contest.

According to CJ CGV, the programme is designed to bring a useful playground for children keen on cinematography this summer, driving them to learn more about the film industry and nurture their dreams of making films.

During the Vietnam Toto's Filmmaking Programme which began on July 5, teenagers are taught the basics of filmmaking at the Sai Gon International Film School . They will learn how to develop story ideas, write scripts and shoot and edit film, and then produce five-minute films, the best of which will be screened at the Megastar Parkson Paragon.
