Two Korean sailors were reported missing while another five Korean and three Vietnamese crewmen were rescued when a fishing boat from the Republic of Korea (RoK) sank in southern Japanese waters on Mar. 13, according to the Japan Coast Guard.
The fishing boat, called “2006 Nam Seong” with capacity of 29 tonnes, caught fire at 3:20 am (local time) and then sank at 11:50am, 250 km away from Minamisatsuma city of Japan’s Kagoshima prefecture.
As soon as it received the information, the Japan Coast Guard began a search for the missing sailors.-VNA
