The Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City was forced to close one of its runways for repair from the morning of July 20, causing delay for a number of flights.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City was forced to close one of its runways for repair from the morning of July 20, causing delay for a number of flights.

The operation of the runway will be halted from 10:48am of July 20 to 5am of July 21.

Head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Lai Xuan Thanh said that during the repair time, the number of flights which land or take off at Tan Son Nhat airport will be reduced from 42 flights a hour to 32 per hour.

Earlier, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced the possibility of delays to its flights, especially those in the peak time from 3pm-8pm of July 20.

Representatives of low-cost carriers Vietjet Air and Jetstar also said that some of their flights will be delayed or the time of the flights will be changed.
