More than 11,000 rural labourers in the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang have received vocational training thanks to a Government scheme which has been implemented since 2009.
Of those, over 8,000 have found stable jobs and 1,200 others have developed household business, said Director of the provincial Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Le Thi Dung.
In the coming time, Tuyen Quang will continue to enlist the attention and support of all-level authorities and relevant agencies to build and upgrade vocational training facilities, developing teaching staff, as well as drafting curricula.
In addition, the province will incorporate the scheme, known as Project 1956, with socio-economic development programmes and projects, especially the national target programme on building new rural areas in its localities.
Over the past three years, Tuyen Quang has invested over 31 billion VND (1.47 million USD) sourced from the project in building infrastructure and purchasing equipment for vocational training centres as well as editing 45 teaching programmes.
At present, the province has 13 vocational training establishments. It plans to build and expand vocational training models that prioritise specialising areas and new-styled rural commumes.-VNA
