Scholarship unveiled for university students

A charity has unveiled the Luong Van Can Scholarships for university students in Vietnam and abroad and solicited donations from businesses and individuals and fee waiver from universities.
A charity has unveiled the Luong Van Can Scholarships for universitystudents in Vietnam and abroad and solicited donations from businessesand individuals and fee waiver from universities.

The Luong Van Can Scholarship Fund (LCVF) will first begin to provide scholarships to study in Australia.

A majority of the scholarships will be earmarked for disadvantaged students.

Thenon-profit will cooperate with many local and foreign universities toprovide full and partial scholarships and with a broad spectrum ofVietnamese businesses and industries to provide work placement forstudents.

It will also support local universities with organisingconferences and seminars to enhance leadership and management skills inhigher education in Vietnam.

It has so far raised 10 billion VND (476,190 USD) for its activities.

Luong Van Can (1854-1927), who wrote popular books on business, is considered their guru by Vietnamese businesspeople.-VNA

National, local traffic safety committees to be dissolved from June 1

Under the dicision, ministries and ministerial-level agencies will assume responsibility for tasks previously performed by the committee, in line with their mandates under the Law on Government Organisation, the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, the Law on Roads and other relevant legal frameworks, ensuring that traffic safety and order are maintained without disrupiton.
