Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – As of August 20, Vietnam was ranked fourth in the medal tally at the ongoing SEA Games 29 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The ranking was secured after the Vietnamese team winning four gold medals in wushu, archery and gymnastics.

The country also secured three silver and two bronze medals after two days into the games.
 
Malaysia remained at top of the tally with 16 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals, followed by Singapore (6 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals) and Thailand (4 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals).

Brunei and Cambodia were at the bottom of the list with 4 and 3 bronze medals respectively, while Timor Leste was yet to seize any medal.

Vietnam sent more than 470 athletes to compete at the Games from August 19-30. They are scheduled to take part in 32 out of 38 sports and set to bring home 49-59 gold medals to rank in the top three.-VNA
