The Embassy of Vietnam in Indonesiahosted a seminar on Feb. 3 to celebrate the 80th founding anniversaryof the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
A largenumber of diplomats and staff of the embassy, Vietnam ’s PermanentMission to ASEAN, and other Vietnamese representative agencies,attended the event.
Envoy Ha Hong Hai, Secretary of the embassy’s Party cell, highlightedthe historic milestones the Vietnamese nation has achieved during thepast 80 years under the sound leadership of the Party and President HoChi Minh.
The Party led the people to victory in the August Revolution in orderto found the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and defeat foreignaggressors to protect the country’s national independence andunification.
The renewal process, which was initiated by the Party in 1986, hashelped the Vietnamese revolution overcome various major challenges, andcreate a new image and international position for Vietnam in itspursuit of the goal of “a rich people, a strong country, and a just,democratic and civilised society”, and ensure stable economic growthrates of between 7-8 percent for 22 years.
In the past two years, when the world plunged into a global financialcrisis, the Party instructed the implementation of both macro and micromeasures to curb its impact on the national economy, Hai stressed.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Nguyen Huu Dung shared this view,saying that the achievements gained proved that the CPV has not onlybeen a representative of the working class, but also the entireVietnamese nation.
The diplomat took this occasion to call on the staff members ofVietnam’s representative agencies in Indonesia to do their utmost tocontribute to the important events taking place during 2010./.
