Hanoi (VNA) – A seminar oninternational cooperation in vocational education was held in Hanoi on November15 to seek ways improving training quality.
The event was organised by the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) in collaboration with the InternationalOrganisation of La Francophonie (OIF) and the International Cooperation Agency of Germany (GIZ).
Participants at the event wereupdated about orientations, potential and opportunities of bilateral andmultilateral cooperation among vocational training establishments, especiallybetween the DVET andinternational agencies and organisations.
They highlighted a need to step updigital transformation and renew methods of vocational training, contributingto maintaining the stability of labour market, improving labour productivityand national competitiveness amid the fourth industrial revolution.
Statistics from the DVET showedthat via international cooperation projects, nearly 5,000 lecturers and education managers have been trained, about 200 others joined training courses in Malaysia, Australia, Germany, France,Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan (China). As many as 655 teachers attended short-term courses transferred by Australia and Germany in Vietnam.
However, the figures remain modestcompared to nearly 90,000 lecturers in vocational training establishmentsnationwide./.
