- An exhibition entitled “Simple and noble examples” has kicked off at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi.

The exhibition was organised by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

It is designed to celebrate the 129th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890-2019) and review three years of implementing the Politburo's Directive 05-CT/TU, dated May 15, 2016, on “studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals and style”.

The exhibition features nearly 300 images and articles praising exemplary models for living, fighting, working and studying in a manner which follows the late President’s moral example.

In his opening speech, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum Vu Manh Ha said this is the seventh consecutive year the exhibition has been organised. It will encourage more people to emulate Uncle Ho's example, he said.

One of outstanding people honoured in the exhibition is Tran Thi Thuy, a teacher at the Duc Hop High School in Kim Dong district, the northern province of Hung Yen.

Thuy has gained many awards such as the national second prize for creative teachers with information technology in 2016. She is one of the top 50 teachers to receive the Global Teacher Prize 2019.

Thuy, together with 45 students, joined a project to attend the contest “Protect our lives from poisonous pesticides”. The project involved connecting knowledge of different subjects such as English, biology, chemistry, literature and geography.

“As an English teacher, I always hope students study the subject and social skills well," Thuy said. "With the theme of learning and following the morality of President Ho Chi Minh, I applied much in my teaching. I myself must be an example for my students, and then explore and support their ability.”

The exhibition will be open until July 20.-VNA
