Singapore and India have agreed to continue working together for stronger defence interactions.

Singapore and India have agreed to continue working together for stronger defence interactions.

The agreement was reached during talks between Defence Minister ofSingapore Ng Eng Hen and his Indian counterpart Arun Jaitley in NewDelhi on August 19.

Both sides expressedsatisfaction over the wide-ranging and comprehensive defence exchangesbetween the two countries and agreed that the strengthening of suchrelations is for mutual benefits.

They also sharedviews on the regional and global security issues, including theAsia-Pacific situation, acknowledging the role of the ASEAN DefenceMinisters Meeting Plus (ADMM+) in promoting dialogue and consensus inthe region.

Singapore and India will celebrate the 50 th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2015.

Earlier, Ng Eng Hen met with India ’s Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.-VNA
