Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) announced on January 10 that total losses from financial scams in 2025 reached 9 trillion IDR (534 million USD), with 127,047 related accounts frozen.
According to OJK Executive Head Friderica Widyasari Dewi, the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) has so far received more than 411,000 reports, underscoring the increasingly serious scale of financial fraud and scam activities. Of these, nearly 218,700 reports were submitted via banks and payment system providers, while more than 192,000 were filed directly by victims.
A total of 681,890 accounts were reported as showing signs of fraud, of which more than 127,000 accounts were frozen, involving a combined value of 402.5 billion IDR.
Regarding the responsibilities of financial institutions, the OJK reported that 193 financial service institutions (PUJK) were implicated in fraud-related cases. In 2025, the authority issued 175 written warnings to 144 PUJK, along with 40 written directives and 43 fines imposed on 40 business entities./.

Yovita Hartantri, head of the New and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases Team at Hasan Sadikin Regional Hospital in Bandung, said the hospital treated 10 patients with influenza A subclade K between September and November last year. The patients exhibited a range of symptoms, with at least three developing severe complications.
