The Philips group of the Netherlands, a global market leader in lighting, has installed a solar power light-emitting diode (LED) system that is energy-saving and environmentally friendly for 288 households in Thanh Son town, northern Ha Nam province.
President of Philips Lighting for Growth Markets, Christoph Schell, said the group is always willing to support local authorities build more villages and townships with the best light.
Its lighting solutions have also contributed to the implementation of the Vietnamese Government’s rural development programmes, especially in the far-flung areas, said Tran Ba Ca, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.
The LED installation is part of the “Philips Gift of Light” initiative, which aims to improve the public living standards.-VNA
