Some 12 billion VND raised for Truong Sa students

The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, along with the city’s Law Newspaper summarised the programme on March 2.

As many as 11 billion VND of the sum will be used to support the construction of Truong Sa Primary School on big Truong Sa Island, which started in October, 2012.

The school’s six classrooms, two boarding rooms and a library will be completed in April, 2013 to serve the 2013-2014 school year.

The remainder of the money will be managed by the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund.

The Head of the programme, Former Vice President Truong My Hoa, expressed her hopes that the fund, which illustrates Vietnamese people’s affection for the islands, will help build more schools for children in the Truong Sa island district.-VNA
