South African President Jacob Zuma said he hopes Vietnam and South Africa will continue tightening relations, especially between the Communist Party of Vietnam ( CPV ) and the African National Congress (ANC) party, for mutual development.
The president expressed his wish on October 16 when receiving the newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa Le Huy Hoang.
Zuma spoke highly of the great achievements made by Vietnamese people under the leadership of the CPV in recent years, saying that his country’s leaders and people always admire the valiant spirit of Vietnamese people in their struggle for independence, freedom and national unity in the past.
On his part, Ambassador Hoang affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and people are determined to continue boosting and deepening the traditional relations with South Africa .
He pledged to focus on reinforcing and deepening the multifaceted partnership between the two countries, especially in economics, trade and education, during his tenure.-VNA
