(Photo: VTV) Hanoi (VNA) - Alushka Linh, a young South African girl who has lived in Vietnam for many years and is currently an actress and English teacher, will accompany journalist Truong Anh Ngoc in the program "Welcome Tet with VTV 2021" titled "" Follow the shadow of the Sun”.
The program is a combination of performing arts and experiencing journeys across the country on different means of transport. Through experiences and cultural stories, the audience will have an opportunity to learn about Tet customs in the destinations through a food, dance, ritual or story about inspirational characters or projects in the year.
Director Le My Cuong (director of the documentary film "The Glory of Heaven") uses the name of the song of Vietnamese famous rapper Den Vau as the theme of the program, with the desire to blow a positive wind through the journey of experiencing lots of laughter and novelty.
"Even if you had a very dark night, soon, the Sun will reappear the next morning with the warm new sunshine of faith and hope. After we have had a year with many things not as expected, we really hope people will accept it and feel warmed by the energy and emotions that the show brings," said the general director.
Explaining the reason for choosing Alushka as one of the two characters, Cuong said that the South African girl's time in Vietnam is long enough for her to have an understanding of the country but still eager for learning more things.

She initially lived and worked as a scuba diver in the central coastal province of Nha Trang, and later became an English teacher. She also works as a host of a weekly talk show for the LGBT community called Come Out presented on the MCV YouTube channel. Alushka confided, "I really liked all the characters on the show. Interestingly, they taught me different ways to experience the world and find happiness."
"I feel fortunate that I have had the opportunity to experience Vietnamese culture in a unique way. What I feel most clearly is the sense of solidarity of Vietnamese people in all circumstances," Alushka added.
In the journey to welcome Tet with VTV, Alushka as well as the audience will be immersed in the flower festival and women's football in Binh Lieu (Quang Ninh northern province), the Buffalo Straw Cow Festival in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, welcoming the first sunlight in Vietnam at Dai Lanh cape (the south central coastal province of Phu Yen), learn about salt making at salt fields in the coastal province of Ninh Thuan, watch Den Vau film MV with indigenous people in the Central Highlands, meet Miss Vietnam Universe H'Hen Nie on the trip on a five-star train from Da Nang station to Dieu Tri station (the central province of Quy Nhon), etc.
Artists participating in the program include singers Thanh Lam, Khanh Linh, Van Mai Huong, rapper Den Vau, Miss H'Hen Nie, dancer Sung A Lung, dancer Tuyet Minh and a group of dancers of Kieu ballet, cellist Ha Mien, Hope choir of visually impaired artists, etc.
The program will be broadcast at 8 PM on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 12) on VTV3 channel./.
