The South African Embassy in Vietnam hosted a banquet in Hanoi on April 27 to celebrate the 16 th anniversary of South Africa’s Freedom Day (April 27, 1994-2010).
Speaking at the ceremony, South African Ambassador to Vietnam Ratubasi Super Moloi said that the traditional relationship between the Vietnamese and South African people has been formed from common challenges the two countries faced during their struggles for freedom.
2010 is also the year when Vietnam and South Africa mark the 16 th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, he added.
Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong expressed his delight at the developing friendship and cooperation between the two countries in recent years.
He congratulated the South African people on their great achievements during the national construction and development and said he believed that South Africa will continue harvesting more successes in the coming time.
The celebration also drew the participation of a delegation of young people from South Africa ’s Johannesburg city with overenthusiastic Diski dances./.
