South Africa’s Freedom Day marked in Vietnam

The South African Embassy in Vietnam hosted a banquet in Hanoi on April 27 to celebrate the 16th anniversary of South Africa’s Freedom Day (April 27, 1994-2010).

Speaking at the ceremony, South African Ambassador to VietnamRatubasi Super Moloi said that the traditional relationship between theVietnamese and South African people has been formed from commonchallenges the two countries faced during their struggles for freedom.

2010 is also the year when Vietnam and South Africa mark the 16th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, he added.

Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong expressed hisdelight at the developing friendship and cooperation between the twocountries in recent years.

He congratulated the South African people on their great achievementsduring the national construction and development and said he believedthat South Africa will continue harvesting more successes in thecoming time.

The celebration also drew the participation of a delegation of youngpeople from South Africa ’s Johannesburg city with overenthusiasticDiski dances./.
