A special concert will take place at Hanoi’s My Dinh stadium on the evening of August 26 to mark the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

The concert, entitled “Giai dieu Mua thu” (Autumn Melody), will be the largest-ever symphonic musical event in the semi-classical style, said Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts Ngo Hoang Quan.

He added that it will feature a 200-strong choir and 100 instrumentalists, including those from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and the Military University of Culture and Arts.

It will also include renowned performers such as monochord player Bui Le Chi, violinist Bui Cong Duy and singers Quang Tho, Duong Minh Duc and Quang Huy.

Conducted by Japan’s Honna Tetsuji, artists will perform typical pieces of Vietnam’s revolutionary music, taking an expected audience of 27,000 through the country’s glorious achievements during the revolutionary wars and national development.

The concert, held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will be broadcast live on Quoc hoi (National Assembly), VOV and Nhan dan (People) television channels.-VNA
